Steven Babitch is a Presidential Innovation Fellow in Washington D.C., where he’s part of the Presidential Innovation Fellows Program established by The White House to bring top tier technologists and entrepreneurs into government to hack bureaucracy and tackle national challenges. His work lies at the intersection of social science, business strategy, technology and design, through which he builds novel products, platforms and policy, humanizing their value.
In 2015, he founded his own consultancy with clients including the World Bank focused on emerging market ventures in climate change technology, and the Knight Foundation. Previously at design consultancies Doblin and IA Collaborative, he worked with clients including Mayo Clinic, Ford, Humana, Sonos, CEOs for Cities, and United Airlines.
His teaching includes Segal Design Institute at Northwestern University and CEDIM Design School in Mexico. He was an Emerging Leader with The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where he co-authored a whitepaper entitled, “Protecting the US Economy: Responding to State-sponsored Theft of Intellectual Property”. Steven has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Design from the IIT Institute of Design.
